Welcome to my Blog page: Mending Nets!
First, a few words about the title. Mending Nets is a Biblical reference to the Sons of Zebedee, James and John. When Jesus first saw them, they were working with their father as fishermen, and at that moment they happened to be mending their nets. Jesus called them saying, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and became disciples of Jesus Christ.
In the decades that followed, the Apostle John’s ministry focused on healing the Churches from the ravages of persecution and false teaching. “Mending Nets” proved to be the theme of John’s life and purpose.
Today, we are in desperate need of peaceful and civil communication. It is vital that we are at least able to hear differing points of view in a platform that is void of personal attacks, yet promotes mutual respect. This may be the only way we can live together in one “net” as a community and a Republic.
Mending Nets will provide commentary on a variety of subjects from a Biblical point of view. My intention is that this blog will not only be insightful, informative, and fun, but that through our discussions we all can discover our commonality as Christians and as Americans.
